How families start, and what the first visits feel like.
If something about speech, language, voice, fluency, or adult communication has been sitting on your heart, a conversation can begin now. The When to reach out page names common reasons families call. It is not a screening or a diagnosis. You do not need a referral to call.
Call or email J'Vohnne, then complete Client Intake / Registration—or print the new-client packet and finish what you can. From there we review consent, privacy, and partnership papers and schedule an evaluation or first session. Missing papers should never keep you from showing up.
J'Vohnne listens. You share what brings you here. You leave knowing whether R.O.S.E. is a fit to keep walking, and what the next step would be if it is. A conversation is not a commitment, not a screening, and not a quote of unpublished session rates. The days before the first visit are not a test. See The First Conversation, or The Wait.
No. You can complete intake, case history, consent, privacy, the family agreement, and attendance in the browser, print the new-client packet, or finish papers together on a call or at the first visit. Missing papers should never keep you from showing up. Evaluation, SOAP notes, plan of care, progress reports, and discharge templates are for J'Vohnne, not for families to fill. You do not need a referral to start a conversation. Some insurance plans or school processes may ask for one later. We will help you sort that out as we go.

R.O.S.E. supports individuals across the lifespan: early intervention (birth–3), preschool and school-age children, adolescents, and adults needing communication or cognitive-communication care after stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, or dementia-related change.
An evaluation is how R.O.S.E. learns this person's story, strengths, and goals. Play, conversation, observation, and formal assessment are used only as they fit. You hear recommendations and fees before you commit to therapy. See the Evaluation page, or the First Visit guide.
You hear a picture of strengths and needs, whether therapy is recommended, and the fee—before you commit. You can take a night to think. If another path is a better fit, J'Vohnne will say so. A recommendation is not a weekly package you have not agreed to. See After Evaluation.
Yes—ask when you reach out. R.O.S.E. can arrange teletherapy and, when it serves the plan, in-person or community visits. Video is not a lesser version of care. Chicago-area families are especially welcome. See Teletherapy, or How Care Is Delivered.
A quiet-enough space and a device with a camera and microphone. For young children, a caregiver nearby often helps the work take root. You do not need a studio. If the connection fails, say so—J'Vohnne will problem-solve with you. Teletherapy is offered when it serves the plan, not as a one-size default. See Teletherapy.

Pediatric care, school collaboration, and the voices growing at home.
The other child is part of the garden too. A sibling in the room is not a distraction to hide, and comparison is not a strategy. This is not a sibling-therapy program or a two-child package. A brother or sister is not automatically a second client. See Siblings, or For Caregivers.
Yes. Adolescents are part of R.O.S.E.'s pediatric care. Therapy stays respectful of the young person in the chair—identity, self-advocacy, fluency, speech sounds, language, autism communication, and AAC. We agree together who is in the room. See Adolescents.
Yes. R.O.S.E. provides birth–3 communication support and parent coaching in everyday routines. With permission, we can coordinate with early-intervention teams. That is collaboration, not a claim of a state EI contract. Call to begin, or read the Early Intervention page.
The child is still the same. The season is changing. As birth–3 support shifts toward preschool and school, R.O.S.E. can keep walking with you as private therapy, parent coaching, and collaboration with the team you already have. That is not a state EI contract, and not a school-based contract. IEP meeting participation is a separately billable professional service. See Turning Three, or Consultation.
Augmentative and alternative communication includes anything that supports or replaces spoken words—gestures, signs, pictures, and speech-generating devices. AAC is a voice, not a last resort. J'Vohnne can help program a system already in use and practice it during a session. R.O.S.E. does not provide AAC evaluations. The AAC Support page has more on how R.O.S.E. walks with families.
Yes. Fluency support is one of R.O.S.E.'s current offerings for children and adults. Therapy is individualized after evaluation and aims at confidence, ease, and self-advocacy—not a demand for perfect speech. See the Fluency page, or call to start a conversation.
Yes. Expressive and receptive language support is part of R.O.S.E.'s pediatric care, including early language development. See the Language page, or Early Intervention for birth–3 parent coaching.
Yes. Autism communication and social communication support are part of R.O.S.E.'s pediatric care. Therapy is strength-based and individualized after evaluation. This is not a diagnosis service. See Autism Communication, or call to begin.
Yes. Speech sound, articulation, and phonological support is part of current pediatric care. Therapy aims at being understood at home, in play, and at school. See Speech Sounds, or call to start a conversation.
With a signed release, R.O.S.E. can review IEP or IFSP information, share progress, and help families carry goals between school and home. That is collaboration with the team you already have—not a school-based contract. IEP review and meeting participation are separately billable professional services, not included in brief consultation or therapy. Families can start on Consultation, or IEP & School Meetings. Aphasia, voice, and neurological rehabilitation after life changes.
No. A mention is enough to begin a conversation. You do not need a written referral to call. Reports help when you have them—never required to show up. Medical care stays with the team that named it. One person can call first. The adult is still the client. A signed release is needed before R.O.S.E. speaks with each sister, son, spouse, or friend. This is not family therapy, and not legal advice. See More Than One, or Someone You Love.
One next step is enough. The driveway is not a second hour. Do not quiz them on the way home. Leave a little quiet. Celebrate what was tried—sound, gesture, picture, or word. If tonight cannot hold the next step, tell J'Vohnne. See The Ride Home, or Home Practice.
You can say you are tired. J'Vohnne will change the work. Teletherapy may bring the hour home when travel costs too much energy—when it serves the plan. A tired day is not a failure. ROSE does not publish a number of weeks, months, or sessions. Length of care is individualized after evaluation and can change as life and goals change. Progress is measured in confidence, connection, independence, and hope—not only in scores. Pausing or completing therapy is a conversation, not a surprise. See Progress Over Time.
Please give at least 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be charged a $25 late cancellation/no-show fee unless waived by R.O.S.E.
Yes. A busy season, a hospital stay, or a missed month is not a closed garden. Call, text, or email again. You do not have to explain every week you missed. J'Vohnne will listen to what is true now. Fees are named before evaluation or therapy begins again. Coming back is not the same door as Coming home after hospital or rehab discharge. See Coming Back.
Yes. Tell J'Vohnne. You do not have to disappear. A pause is not a failure, and not a closed garden. If a reserved hour is already on the calendar, 24-hour notice protects it. Late cancel and no-show fees are $25 unless waived. This is not Coming back—the door for returning—and not Tired days, when the hour itself can change. See The Pause, or Coming Back.
A late arrival may mean a shortened session so the next family stays on time. The full session fee still applies.
R.O.S.E. follows HIPAA practices for treatment, care coordination, documentation, and billing. Health information is shared only with your authorization when required. See Records & Sharing, the Notice of Privacy Practices, and the HIPAA release form.
Yes, with a signed release. R.O.S.E. can share progress in everyday language with a school, physician, or EI team when you authorize it. That is collaboration, not a school-based contract. IEP meeting participation is a separately billable professional service. Public Stories films are a separate yes. See Records & Sharing, or Consultation.
Yes. Brief telephone or virtual consultation is $25 per 15 minutes and may include speech and language guidance, AAC support, home-program recommendations, and carryover strategies. Educational and IEP consultation—including IEP review and meeting participation—is a separately billable professional service, not included in that brief fee. Consultation fees and educational/IEP consultation fees are private pay and are not billable to health insurance. Applicable fees are named before that work whenever reasonably possible. These services do not constitute legal representation or legal advocacy. See Consultation.

Home practice should be short, kind, and part of real life—play, meals, greetings, and the conversations that already belong to your family. After communication changes in adulthood, Talking Together names how families slow down, wait, and confirm without speaking for the person who is still here. Your plan will name strategies that fit you, and you can always tell J'Vohnne if something does not work at home.

Yes. The practice brochure is a three-page overview you can download as a PDF or print. Share & print has additional one-pagers for visits. Neither invents unpublished session rates or a walk-in clinic address.
Yes. Open the phone app page, then use Safari’s Add to Home Screen on iPhone, or Chrome’s Install app on Android. The R.O.S.E. icon will sit on your screen. This is not an App Store listing. Call, text, and email still go to J'Vohnne.
