Slow
Extra time is respect. Rushing a word, a choice, or a story can steal the chance to stay in the conversation.
Every bloom begins with ROSE.

Talking together
After stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, or dementia-related change, families often ask how to help at home. Slow down. Wait. Confirm. The person is still here.
Every journey begins with hope.
Begin your journeyWho this door is for
A spouse, an adult child, a friend in the waiting room, or the adult who wants their family to know how to help. You do not need a referral to call. Home practice for children has its own doorway. This page is the adult counterpart: how to talk together without taking the words away.
A simple rhythm
These are starting ideas for the kitchen table, not a worksheet and not a promise. Your plan will name what fits this person. You can always tell J'Vohnne if something does not work at home.
Slow
Extra time is respect. Rushing a word, a choice, or a story can steal the chance to stay in the conversation.
Wait
Leave a little silence. An attempt—sound, gesture, picture, or word—needs room to arrive. Filling the pause is not the same as helping.
Confirm
Check what was understood without taking over. A nod, a short restatement, or a choice of two can keep this person in charge of their own meaning.
What helps
What this is not
Every journey begins with hope.
A conversation is enough
You do not need a referral to start. Fees are named before evaluation or therapy begins. If another path is a better fit, J'Vohnne will say so.
